About HOPE
Health Optimization & Performance Experts
HOPE is an Exercise Medicine and musculoskeletal health initiative built by people who have spent decades learning, questioning, testing, changing, and refining how healthy aging can be made practical.
Our Roots
HOPE grew from long involvement in international anti-aging, preventive health, sports medicine, fitness, and healthy-aging communities. One important part of that history is the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), founded in 1992 by Dr. Ronald Klatz and Dr. Robert Goldman, together with the WorldHealth.net knowledge network.
We do not present that history as proof that every idea ever associated with the anti-aging field is correct. Science changes. Industries change. We keep learning. HOPE today focuses on areas we are prepared to stand behind publicly: integrative physical and MSK health, Exercise Medicine, functional capacity, healthy aging, and sustainable lifestyle.
The People Behind HOPE
Dr. Robert M. Goldman – Mentor and Global Resource. Physician co-founder and Chairman of A4M and founder / President Emeritus of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). His career connects sports medicine, fitness education, preventive health, and healthy aging. His mentorship and global professional network are an important part of HOPE’s roots and continuing learning.
Tjang (Stephen Tjandra) – Founder. Brings decades of real-world experience in anti-aging, healthy aging, wellness, exercise, and international professional networks. His role is to keep asking a practical question: what can we turn into something useful, sustainable, fair, and understandable for real people?
Dr. Tanjung Subrata – Lead Physician. Leads clinical review and helps ensure that HOPE educational and clinical pathways remain grounded in professional reasoning, safety, evidence, and appropriate scope.
HOPE also grows through its physiotherapy, exercise, clinical, technology, university, and partner network. We do not need perfect people. We need good people willing to learn, contribute, and grow together.
How We Build Knowledge
AI helps HOPE accelerate evidence discovery, synthesis, organization, and knowledge management across large bodies of textbooks, journals, guidelines, and trusted resources. AI does not replace professional judgment. Clinical review is led by qualified professionals, with mentorship, global resources, and real-life experience adding context before material becomes part of HOPE practice or public education.
AI accelerates. Professionals review. People benefit.
What We Stand For Today
We do not promise to stop aging. We help people build the physical capacity to age well. Our continuum connects Clinical Care → Functional Movement Restore → Performance Foundation → Sustainable Lifestyle.
Our Purpose
HOPE is a legacy project as much as a business. Revenue helps sustain the work, but the work is not only about us. We want to leave useful knowledge, practical tools, stronger professionals, better partnerships, and healthier communities behind.
Start small. Accept reality. Keep learning. Do useful work. Be happy.
