What Is Exercise Medicine?
Exercise Medicine uses planned, measurable, individualized physical activity to support health and function. It is more useful than simply telling someone to “exercise more” because the right type, dose, progression, and level of supervision depend on the person.
CXRX and EXRX Are Related – Not the Same
CXRX (Corrective Exercise) is a targeted exercise strategy used when assessment identifies a specific movement need. EXRX (Exercise Prescription) is the individualized exercise plan built around the whole person, including health status, capacity, goals, symptoms, response, and environment.
CXRX can be part of EXRX when needed. A person does not have to “finish corrective exercise” before beginning every other form of safe training.
The Practical Question
Does this person need clinical assessment, movement restoration, a performance foundation, or simply a well-designed exercise plan? HOPE uses that question to choose the right entry point.
Professional Scope Matters
Technology can support observation and documentation. Qualified clinicians interpret clinical findings. Exercise professionals coach within their competence and scope. Collaboration is stronger than blurred roles.
Where HOPE Fits
HOPE connects Clinical Care → Movement Restore → Performance Foundation → Sustainable Lifestyle. The goal is not to medicalize exercise. The goal is to help people move from the right starting point toward confident long-term physical activity.
